Hello!

Yearly Reflection Worksheet

Leadership

January 9, 2022

Many of us have gone through the process of a yearly reflection. Performance review, anyone? Whether this review was prompted, such as a performance review at work, or something you initiated on your own, yearly reflections hold a lot of value.

Yearly reflections are great because they give us a chance to take a look at what has happened before setting our goals for the future. A good review enables us to step out of our day-to-day and identify a common theme in our actions. Doing a yearly review can help us to create SMART goals. SMART stands for: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound.

Need a place to start developing your SMART goals? Check out our SMART goals worksheet!

What is the Yearly Reflection Worksheet?

Our Yearly Reflection Worksheet is a resource that we have used for some time to help us finish each year strong and prepare us for our more detailed goal setting for the next year. It is essentially a list of questions that take some dedicated time to complete, allowing us to thoughtfully reflect on our actions and experiences from the past year. The flow of the questions is designed to shift smoothly from reflection on the past year to a set of probing questions that will set you up to start creating and refining your goals.

One of our favorite questions from the list is about when you felt most alive. It is easy to confuse this with a favorite memory or event, but this question goes deeper than that. That’s why we love these questions! They will help you dig a little deeper into your life and feel more grounded as you embark on another year.

The best thing about this Yearly Reflection Worksheet is that it doesn’t have to be just for you! You don’t have to do it alone. It can be a great way to connect with your spouse or partner. More fun questions for your marriage here! It can also be used when spending quality time with your children – have you read our blog about One-on-One Dates with Kids yet? You can even share it with a friend who might benefit from some reflection as well.

Any way you choose to use our worksheet, we know that it will be a great resource to add to your arsenal. Download it here!
